
September 11 has played an ironic role in Andrew Coughlan’s life. The terror attacks in 2001 motivated his decision to join the Army. He landed in Baghdad for his deployment to Iraq on that date in 2003. And he came back exactly one year later – September 11, 2004 – but only after suffering the horrors of war and loss in an area known as the “Triangle of Death.”
Its purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service members, to help them aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
